Training log: 2 hour base building run

16 January 2018 by Darren

Between yesterday mornings run and this mornings effort Perth received 96mm of rain courtesy of ex- tropical cyclone Joyce. For a city with a Mediterranean climate (cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers), a good downpour in the summer is welcome relief. In fact Perth received about 4 months worth of rain. Despite this I didn’t get rained on either morning this week!

Today called for a 100 minute Base building run, but given the nice weather and the possibility of a long run not being on the cards this weekend, I’m spending the week doing longer slower runs, hoping to keep up with my 100km/week challenge.

The run went well and after 18km yesterday, the legs were OK, though they started to tire towards the end.

Tonight will be some active isolated stretching  to keep the legs in good shape 🙂
